How it started
Why playing music?
Somewhere in the past century...
I have a little background in music.
I mean, I learned piano when I was 7 years old, but stopped before high school.
Then, as a teenager, I took up the piano again on my own. Gradually, as ragtime drew me towards jazz, I tried to take lessons again. At my local music conservatory, there was a Saturday morning jazz class.
The teacher was original, strict, very cynical, but excellent. In short, it was an exciting year.
Over the next few years, my studies took precedence over everything else.
At 20, I wanted to learn (electric) guitar. Chords were fine, but solos were a different story. You don't become a virtuoso on a stringed instrument at that age.
Back then, producing music yourself was even more expensive than it is today. Computers were rudimentary for this. You had to use hardware to get nice sounds. In short, a lot of money and investment. A lot of money and investment.
Then, now.
I bought a small Arturia MIDI controller. I hesitated with an AKAI controller. But the DAW included was MPC, not ABLETON LIVE.
And then, stumbling across ABLETON LIVE, it was a shock.
The software seemed complex but very powerful. Fortunately, there were plenty of tutorials on YouTube that made it easy to get started. I'd like to thank Knarf des Sondiers and his videos: Les Sondiers
Then I started to publish my music on Youtube and Soundcloud because it's free.
Enjoy!
